We are happy to announce Julia Reda as a Keynote speaker!
Julia leads the project control © at the German civil rights litigation NGO Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte e.V.. Between 2014 and 2019 Julia was a Member of the European Parliament, where she focused her work on the EU copyright directive and the regulation of online platforms. During her time in Parliament she founded the free software auditing project FOSSA.
Julia is a board member of the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany, a Shuttleworth Fellow, and an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. Julia holds an M.A. in political science and communications science from Mainz University, Germany.
In her keynote she will talk about public funding of open source technologies and why we need a European open technology fund.
